Why are there so many different types of Nursing Scrubs?
Depending on where you work or what your profession is, the type of scrub that you wear can tell alot about you. Take for instance a young lady that works in a pedatric setting. What type of scrub would you think she would wear? Probably something that has some sort of cartoon design or colorful and playful design. This is because it takes the fear and pain away from the patient (usually a child or baby). Not only does it allow the patient to look at something while the doctor or nurses perform their duties, it also helps them realize that the Dr’s office or Dentist office really isn’t that bad of a place.
Now, lets shoot forward a few years and think about a dentist office. Usually when you walk into a dentist office, you will see a staff that is color coordinated, has an embroidered name on the top, and looks extrememly professional. Why you ask? This is due to the type of professionalism that dentist office’s like to display. Rather than dealing with children all day, they handle mostly adults who like to see a level of professionalism and dedication to the job. Next time you go into your dentist office, take a look.
Hospitals is where you will probably find the most stringent dress code for nursing scrubs. Here the hospital, depending on what floor you work on and what type of hospital is it, will only allow certain colors to be worn or certain designs to be displayed. Sometimes this is so the staff at the hospital can tell who is who when it comes to specialist, nurses and doctors. Or, sometimes its to display their professionalism as well. Hospitals are an excellent place to look for new designs and ideas for nursing scrubs. I’m sure when Cherokee Scrubs or Dickies Scrubs are coming out with new ideas or designs for their scrubs, they look to hospitals and doctors offices to get a feeling on how they will work out.
There are so many different types of nursing scrubs out there because there are so many people who wear them. One does not fit all in this scenario.
