Nursing Scrubs Today

yhst-39156634853645_2111_72679549Nursing scrubs have changed dramatically throughout the past 10, 20 or even 30 years. Remember walking into a hospital back in the day and seeing everyone wearing all white scrub tops and matching white scrub bottoms. What happened to that? Now everywhere you go you see nurses and doctors wearing a variety of different colors with beautiful designs and catchy pictures on them. Maybe they do this now so it takes the “pain” or “nervousness” out of going to see them.

Over the past few years, hospitals and doctor’s offices have become less stringent on what you can wear. Walk into a peditrician’s office, nurses are wearing scrubs with Sesame Street characters on them, or walk into a dentist’s office and you will see beautiful flower patterened scrubs. It’s nice to see that times have changed, as they should have. No longer do you have to sit in an office with mundane looking uniforms or scrubs.

Nowadays, you even see causal people walking around in scrub tops. I’m sure they have become both more comfortable to wear and more durable as well. Also, the market has expanded dramatically, marketing scrubs to the male arena as well. I’m actually surprised that it has taken this long for that to happen, considering all of the male doctors in the industry today. Who is to say that they can’t wear cool looking, comfortable scrubs too?
